Lawrence Bishnoi was born in 1992 in the Ferozepur district of Punjab in a family of Punjabis. His father was once a police constable, who afterward took up agriculture. Since childhood, Bishnoi has been an ardent sports enthusiast, particularly in wrestling. He graduated from Panjab University, Chandigarh, and soon joined active student politics. While being a student politician, he also launched the Student Organisation of Panjab University (SOPU), for which he also staked a nomination for the college president post. Right after the elections, he got involved in a students rivalry. First time a criminal case was registered against Lawrence Bishnoi, in 2011, when he opened fire on a group of rival students.

Bishnoi’s criminal network began to spread rapidly and by 2022, more than 65 criminal cases were registered against him. He also murdered Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. The influence of his gang extends to more than 800 shooters. He has spread his gang across multiple countries and has associates like Goldy Brar and his cousin Sachin Bishnoi who keeps the gang running even while Bishnoi is locked away in Tihar Jail.
