Most Search Topics on Google in the US (Top 100) in 2023 :
- ‘Weather’ is still the most searched for word on Google in the US, but Facebook has been overtaken by global leader ‘Youtube’ for second place with 66.65 million monthly searches.
- Similar to worldwide search leaderboard, e-commerce giant ‘Amazon’ makes top 5
- People in the US love to eat out, especially locally, with ‘food near me’ and ‘restaurants near me’ being the 24th and 43rd most searched terms.
- ‘Twitter’ remains relatively stable at number 17 (up from 15 in 2022), perhaps due to controversial changes made by the social media giant’s new owner. Interestingly, the term ‘Elon Musk’ has completely dropped out of the top 100 since the end of 2022.
- Trump was the most searched person, with 8.4 million monthly searches, followed by Andrew Tate (4.95 million) and Jenna Ortega (4.83). Who doesn’t love watching Wednesday?

Key Points about the Most Searched Topics on Google in the UK :
- ‘Weather’ was the most searched term on Google with a total of 137 million searches so far this year.
- BBC still dominates in UK, with 11 of the top search terms driving the most traffic
- Football-related terms account for 14% of the top 100 searches, with ‘Premier League’ at number 7. Arsenal was the most searched football team with 4.8 million monthly searches.
- Inflation and the continued rise in mortgage rates have still not dampened Britons’ interest in property: ‘rightmove’ was the 18th most searched term with over 28 million searches (4.67 million monthly).
- ‘Universal Credit’ was the 22nd most searched term with a total of 24.5 million searches (4 million monthly) – indicating a cost-of-living crisis reflected in online behaviour.
- Brits clearly love betting, with bet365 being the 35th most searched term, followed by William Hill in 58th and Sky Bet in 75th.
- Andrew Tate was the most searched person in the UK with 1.6 million average monthly searches.
