Our Rights:
The state gives us protection. So it is our duty to obey the rules of the government and pay the taxes in time. No government can function well without money. Gandhiji said, “do your duties. Right will come automatically.” Prof. Haldane wrote , “A citizen has no rights against the state.” The main duty of a citizen is to save the honour of his country. So he must be healthy. A weak and ailing person can do nothing positive. A weak person is a burden. He can neither do good to himself nor to the country.
A good citizen should be selfless. He should be prepared to sacrifice his all for his country. Bhama Shah of Udaipur offered a very big amount of money to Rana Pratap unasked for. Self-sacrificing citizens are the glory of the country where they are born.
Pointing out the standard of good conduct,Socrates said, “Treat others as you wish to be treated by them.”Gandhiji said. “Socrates has explained clearly the scope of right.”
